Course Overview

Do you want to develop the essential management skills and experience to launch your business career? Management is at the heart of the skillset needed to succeed in modern business. Our course is designed to provide you with a broad range of knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to business and management that will enable you to excel in a wide range of jobs once you graduate.

You will develop your knowledge and understanding of the various functional areas of business, including management, marketing, human resources, finance and operations management within a global context.

The programme’s integrated, cohesive approach will enable you to develop your understanding of global business, and how different business functions operate and complement each other. Through problem-based and experiential learning approaches you’ll focus on real-world challenges that equip you to resolve complex business problems in sustainable, responsible and transformative ways.

Having completed this course, you will be able to effectively apply a range of management and business theories and practices in an entrepreneurial and innovative manner.

  • Developing real business skills - Studying at SSS will allow you to develop the skills businesses demand including IT, project management, team working and leadership.

This course is designed for students wishing to embark on a professional career in business and management. It will help you develop analysis and evaluation skills which can be applied to real-world situations. You will also be equipped with the skills required to be successful in business, such as entrepreneurship, digital literacy, collaborative working and communication skills.

You'll learn about the complexities of organisations, understanding their structure and management concepts. You'll explore the fundamentals of accounting, finance and marketing, as well as getting the opportunity to learn about international business and marketing.

We design our modules to simulate the modern business environment, giving you the opportunity to solve business problems in real-life case studies. You'll learn in small groups, developing the confidence to work in project teams to a professional standard - gaining real-world experience through the two professional work placements you'll complete, and you will have the opportunity to conduct a business research project with an employer in your final year.

Our students graduate with an invaluable combination of in-depth theoretical knowledge and professional experience, preparing you for a successful start to your career in business and management.

The module details given below are subject to change, and are the latest example of the curriculum available on this course of study. Students will study a combination of core and option modules across their three or four years of study.

Year 1

Business Management and its associated courses integrate theory and practice. As such, teaching methods are designed to be diverse, inclusive and to reflect the global context in which you will operate upon graduating.

Methods include face-to-face, blended and independent learning, through a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, work-based learning, ‘real-world’ projects and discussion forums.

Our BA (Hons) Business Management programme features research-rich, but practice-led, teaching that develops your cultural, contextual and ethical professional understanding.

A variety of assessment methods are used, matched to the learning outcomes for your programme, to enable you to demonstrate the full range of knowledge and skills that you have developed.

The following information is designed to give you a general overview of the qualifications we accept. If you are taking qualifications that are not included below, please contact our Admissions Office who will be happy to advise you. Typically, you will need one of the following:

  • A-levels: BBC
  • BTEC: DMM
  • 112 UCAS points
  • GCSE Requirements: Grade C or above/grade 4 or higher in English Language and Maths.

If you have achieved a qualification such as a foundation degree or HND, or have gained credit at another higher education institution, you may be able to enter the course at Level 5 or 6.

We accept a variety of international equivalent qualifications and Leeds Trinity University co-interviews all international candidates. Typically, this is a call at a mutually convenient time. We treat every application on its own merits and we value highly the experience you illustrate in your personal statement.

UK & EU Students:
Tuition fees cost £9,250 a year for this course in 2020/2021.

Part-time tuition fees will be pro-rated accordingly to the number of credits you're studying. Depending on government policy, tuition fees may rise with inflation in future years.

You’ll graduate with the knowledge, skills and experience to work effectively in a management role within a business organisation. Upon completion of the course, graduates will be workplace ready to enter a range of commercial and non-commercial sectors.

Throughout the course, you will learn the best practices to enhance business performance, as well as developing your decision-making skills to generate solutions to complex business problems. Both of these critical skills will ensure you stand out to employers as a valuable asset to their companies.
