Bullying Harassment and Sexual Misconduct

Bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct are contrary to Scholars School System’s ethos, mission and values. We believe that everyone should be treated with courtesy, dignity and respect. If you encounter any of the preceding behaviours, use the resources below to know how to respond, record and report your experience.

What is Bullying, Harassment or Sexual Misconduct?

  • Bullying: Any behaviour that is intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive.
  • Harassment: Any form of intimidation relating to a "relevant protected characteristic", such as sex, marital status, race, disability, religion or beliefs, sexual orientation, age or gender reassignment.
  • Sexual misconduct: Any act of violence, coercion, or intimidation of a sexual nature, including non-consensual physical contact, such as sexual touching or groping, pinching, or smacking.

You can make requests in the reporting document, for support in contacting police or any other referral service. Scholars School System encourages use of the reporting document as a first point of contact, as this allows for timely access to trained advisors from our student wellness team.

If an allegation is reported, the next steps are to assess the situation and take necessary steps as required while the matter is investigated. The complaint process map posted above, for student complaints, will be followed to address and investigate Bullying, Harassment and Sexual Misconduct complaints.

If you report an allegation, please:
