Year Lead for Business Management Job Description.Scholars School System, a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006), is seeking Year Lead - Business Management across all campuses, including Birmingham, Manchester and London.
PurposeScholars School System is seeking to appoint a Year Lead- Business Management to play a key role in supporting the direction of the School, providing vision, direction and inspirational operational leadership and championing the enhancement of education for the health and social care portfolio across all campuses.
The Year Lead will support the Associate Deans, Professional Services and Programme team to provide operational leadership to SSS activities and ambitions with a strong emphasis on teaching, learning and related activities to support student academic experience within Business Management in promoting success for all students.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport Programme/Deputy Lead in managing Business Management courses, ensuring quality and academic excellence.
Contribute proactively towards achieving the Office for Students (OfS) B3 condition metrics
Must achieve 90% student attendance, 90% student pass rates and 90% student retention.
Must be engaged in minimum of 20 hours of teaching per week
Assist in strategic planning and implementing departmental goals.
Provide leadership to academic staff, promoting collegiality and ambition.
Guide staff on learning outcomes, teaching plans, and quality assurance.
Enhance teaching and learning through knowledge application and innovation.
Manage student academic records and progression under Programme Lead oversight.
Promote digital innovation and student partnerships in education.
Foster interdepartmental collaboration to enrich the student experience.
Oversee teaching cover during absences and maintain standards.
Lead curriculum reviews, quality assurance, and implement required actions.
Mentor new staff, conduct inductions, and allocate teaching resources.
Collaborate with professional services and attend meetings to enhance student journeys.
Strengthen community ties through UKCAB partnership events.
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within staff and students.
Contribute to policy development in academic and other committees.
Adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
RequriementsEssential
Minimum of 6 years’ experience working within a Higher Education setting within the United Kingdom Education preferably universities and private institutes
Must have a Master’s Degree in a business-related subject,
PHD/EDD is desirable
Must have higher education teaching qualification PGCE/AFHEA/FHEA
Relevant and current professional registration
Previous experience of module leadership and associated activities
Ability to think creatively and with vision and the willingness to suggest and try new and creative approaches to problems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to varied audiences.
Salary and BenefitsSalary is £45,000 to £50,000.
Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays.
Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs after successful probationary period.
