Disability Support

At Scholars School System, we prioritise making higher education accessible for all students, regardless of accessibility or support needs. Find out below how the Student Disability Service supports students at all of our campuses.

At Scholars School System, we work closely with all our departments to make sure that everyone working with students maintains inclusive practice. From the admissions team to student support and your teaching faculty, all staff work to accommodate any and all reasonable adjustments.

Under the 2010 Equality Act, you will qualify for support if you have a physical or mental health condition that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ impact on your ability to carry out normal daily activities, including study.

If you have a long-term mental or physical health condition, a specific learning difficulty or have been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum, then you should contact us to discuss reasonable adjustments.

This could include

  • Arranging exam adjustments, such as extra time, rest breaks or use of technological interventions
  • Supporting you in accessing a non-medical helper, such as a study skills tutor.
  • Helping students to understand their rights. You may be entitled to the Disabled Students Allowance, and we can support applications for DSA funded support.
  • Providing advice and guidance on screenings for students who think they may have an invisible disability, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia or dyscalculia.

If you think you may require reasonable adjustments, complete the disability disclosure form here:

If you’d like to speak to a member of our team, contact us at disability@scholarsschool.ac.uk
