Prevent and Safeguarding

At the Scholars School System, we take our prevent responsibilities very seriously. Therefore, we have special mechanisms in place to manage risks related to potential radicalisation of individuals using a risk-based approach.

Find out how the institution takes basic step(s) to demonstrate or exhibit consciousness, awareness, and comprehension of the risk of radicalisation within its authorities as well as across the institution:

  • Swiftly responding to the ideological challenge of terrorism and the threat faced from those who promote it.
  • Prevent individuals from being drawn into terrorism and ensure they are given appropriate advice and support.
  • Work with sectors within the institution to identify suspicious individuals at risk of radicalisation and address matters swiftly and sensitively.
  • Ensure that students and staff are aware of the established processes to refer concerns about individuals and groups.
  • Give information and guidance to students during inductions on indicators of people at risk of being radicalised or exposed to extreme views.
