Student's Success Stories

Returning to education as a single parent was one of the biggest decisions of my life, but also one of the most empowering. Balancing family, work, and study hasn’t been easy, yet with the support of the Scholar School System, what once seemed daunting has become a journey of growth and achievement. 

Before starting my degree, I spent over a decade working as a Mental Health Recovery Support Worker. That experience gave me passion and purpose, but studying for my degree has given me so much more, the knowledge, confidence, and direction to make a real difference in the lives of those I support. I can already see the impact in my work and the positive outcomes for the people in my care. 

What makes this experience truly special is knowing I’m setting an example for my child, showing that perseverance and education can open doors to a brighter future. The encouragement from lecturers, staff, and fellow students has been incredible, creating a community where we lift each other up.

To anyone thinking about returning to education later in life, my message is simple: don’t let fear or self-doubt hold you back. With determination, belief, and the right support, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. I’m deeply grateful to the Scholar School System for helping me believe in myself and for giving me the tools to build a better future — for my family, my career, and those I serve.
