Associate Dean- Quality Assurance Job Description

Scholars School System is a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006) having campuses across the United Kingdom, is looking for an Associate Dean – Quality Assurance across all campuses which includes Birmingham, Manchester, London, Bradford and Leicester campus based in the Birmingham campus.

Scholars School System is a national independent higher education provider, offering world class education. Taught programmes, ranging from Foundation Year through to Level 7, delivered in partnership with institutions such as Leeds Trinity University. Over 5000 (UK and EU) learners have successfully completed their learning journey in the last five years with the current student population is over 3000.

Reports to: Senior Management

 
Purpose

Scholars School System is seeking to appoint an Associate Dean – Quality Assurance who can manage, coordinate and provide support towards the development of new programmes. You should be able to design and develop new programmes and manage quality reviews.

 
Responsibilities

 

·       Manage quality assurance arrangements, ensuring that relevant regulations, policies and codes of practice are kept under review and updated in accordance with the wishes of our partners.

·       Co-ordinate and provide support for the design and development of new programmes, and modules, including collaborative provision, working closely with and providing detailed advice and guidance to managers, including quality assurance induction briefings for staff new to those roles.

·       Manage Quality Review process ensuring the effective monitoring of performance of curriculum provision using key performance indicators.

·       Co-ordinate planning and management of internal reviews and support and assist in the coordination of external reviews and inspections.

·       Support and advise academic and render professional support and collaborative colleagues in relation to quality assurance and enhancement matters.

·       Include advice on the impact of new developments in relation to external regulatory and reporting requirements and amendments to internal quality processes and procedures.

·       Undertake appropriate training which may be required to enhance performance in relation to the duties of the post, attend staff development sessions and participate in annual appraisal process.

 

Requirements

 Essential

 

·       PHD in Business or Health and Social Care

·       Quality Assurance qualifications desirable

·       Ideally minimum 3 years of UK experience in HE

·       Evidence of proven track record in a similar role

·       Experience of working with OFS and QAA

·       Knowledge of higher education and awareness of current issues in HE

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver reports and briefing.

·       Ability to develop comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant quality assurance regulatory frameworks and requirements, and translate them into practice, providing effective advice and guidance to staff and students.

·       Good analytical skills and the ability to present quality assurance related data effectively.

·       Highly effective people management skills, with an ability to build relationships, foster an environment of trust, confidence and co-operation.

·       Experience of developing, implementing and managing effective systems, policies and procedures, planning and outcome monitoring.

·       Experience in the management of quality systems and quality assurance frameworks, procedures and regulations in higher education.

·       Experience in a professional administrative role in the management of student administration in a HE or any other related field.

 

Salary and Benefits

·       £60,000 - £70,000 per annum based on experience

·        Basic hours are 9am to 6pm on site

·        Trips away from the office are often required 

·        Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays

·        Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs upon successful probation period

·        3% annual increase per year on completion from your start date of service and on meeting KPIs
