Scholars School System is a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006) and has vibrant campuses across the United Kingdom in Birmingham, Manchester, London, Bradford, and Leicester.

We are in search of a dedicated Associate Dean- Student Support, Experience, Engagement, and Activity for our Birmingham, London, and Manchester campuses to join our mission of delivering world-class education from Foundation Year to Level 7, in collaboration with prestigious partners like Leeds Trinity University. Over 5000 (UK and EU) learners have successfully completed their learning journey in the last five years with the current student population being over 3000.

Purpose:

Scholars School System invites applications for the position of Associate Dean - Student Support, Experience, Engagement, and Activity. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and will play a pivotal role in upholding the mission, vision, and values of the university through strategic initiatives. The appointee will be expected to liaise, cooperate, collaborate, and communicate effectively to enhance performance and foster a culture of quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development: Champion student success and innovation through extracurricular and team-building activities.
Leadership: Direct Academic Support staff to enhance the student journey from start to finish, ensuring top-notch support and career guidance.
Quality Enhancement: Improve student experiences, especially in collaborative programs, by fostering skill development.
Resource Management: Optimize resource use, ensuring staff and students benefit from available learning tools.
Student Advocacy: Address concerns efficiently, uphold policies, and strengthen student representation and feedback channels.
EDI Leadership: Lead inclusive orientation programs and EDI initiatives, aligning with strategic goals.
Inclusive Environment: Create a welcoming and supportive educational setting for diverse learning experiences.
Collaboration: Work with leadership to monitor and uplift teaching standards and student support.
Staff Oversight: Manage and mentor staff, setting clear goals and encouraging professional growth.
Innovation: Develop and implement creative approaches to meet and exceed strategic aims.
Chair committee meetings and undertake additional responsibilities aligned with the position's scope.
 

Essential Criteria:

Demonstrated ability to provide clear and effective leadership, fostering a culture of collegiality and ambition. The ideal candidate will enhance productivity and ensure the university’s strategic aims and objectives are achieved in a unified manner.
A sustained record of strategic leadership in academic practice and development, contributing significantly to a high-quality student learning experience.
A proven track record in designing and implementing effective learning activities, study programs, teaching support, assessments, feedback mechanisms, student engagement initiatives, and innovative student support and guidance systems.
Successful experience in coordinating, supporting, supervising, managing, and mentoring team members to enhance the student learning experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of the evolving regulatory environment, including OFS, DFE, EPAS, and Ofsted, and their impact on quality assurance and enhancement in academic and professional practice. Familiarity with other relevant professional, statutory, and regulatory bodies is crucial.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities are essential.
Experience in fostering successful collaborations between higher education institutions and professional bodies.
A PhD degree is mandatory.
Capability to perform duties across various locations, including any university campus as necessary.
 

Compensation and Perks:

Salary: Competitive.
Working Hours: 9 am to 6 pm, on-site.
Travel requirements for business purposes.
Annual Leave: 28 days plus bank holidays.
Incentives: Up to £5k annually, based on quarterly KPIs post-probation.
Salary Growth: 3% annual increase, subject to KPI achievement.
A generous relocation allowance is available for candidates considering a move to either Birmingham, London or Manchester campuses.
