Deputy Program Lead- Health and Social Care Job Description

Scholars School System is a project of UK CURRICULUM & ACCREDITATION BODY (UKCAB, a registered charity founded in 2006) having campuses across the United Kingdom, is looking for a  Deputy Program Lead - Health & Social Care for our Birmingham Campus.

Scholars School System is a national independent higher education provider, offering world class education. Taught programmes, ranging from Foundation Year through to Level 7, delivered in partnership with institutions such as Leeds Trinity University. Reports to: Associate Dean and Head of Department

Purpose

As a result of a recent success and growth we are looking to appoint a Deputy Program Manager to manage the health and social care courses across all campuses. Successful candidates will work with our staff to ensure an excellent student experience through the use of relevant and inspiring learning, teaching and assessment methods.


Responsibilities

  • Ideally, you will combine industry and teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate and/or professional level. 
  • Provide oversight and guidance on learning outcomes, teaching plans, programme structure, quality of content and teaching approaches
  • Transform, extend and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship, academic practice and professional standards and quality assurance benchmarks in enhancing teaching and learning
  • Support colleagues to deliver organisational and statutory requirements
  • Work internally and externally to support partner organisations and activities
  •  Module leadership and associated activities
  • The individual will manage courses across different campuses to maintain quality within teaching and learning and deputise for the Programme Manager as and when required.
Requirements

Essential
  • PhD/MSc in a health-related subject
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a higher education setting within the United Kingdom
  • Previous experience of program leader/course leader/year lead is desirable  
  • Fellowship in FHCA Status (Highly Desirable)
  • Experience of managing teaching and learning and quality processes including marking, assessment and giving feedback and feed forward
  • Experience in using different technologies to deliver teaching and learning
  • Organisational and leadership skills and knowledge
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance benchmarks
  • Module leadership experience
  • Project management experience
  • People management experience

Salary and Benefits

·       Competitive

·        Basic hours are 9am to 6pm on site

·        Trips away from the office are often required 

·        Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays

·        Up to £5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs upon successful probation period

·        3% annual increase per year on completion from your start date of service and on meeting KPIs
